Sunday, September 28th, 2003: Manuel Aguilar of Carolina roared out of the gate and never looked back. The 26-year-old powerhouse slammed 50 home runs, had 159 RBIs and batted a solid .413 on the year to grab the Frick League Triple Crown, the 1st one in MBBA history.
"Boy, what a year!" he said. "There are plenty of talented guys down through the years who never won one... and here I am with a Triple Crown!" |

Sunday, September 28th, 2003: And the Winner is... Eric Rouse.
The 2003 Johnson League batting race was won by the Omaha right fielder. Rouse topped the batting chart with a .366 average. For the season, he cranked out 182 hits, 11 home runs, scored 101 times and batted in 77. |
| Aguilar Joins Elite .400 Club
Sunday, September 28th, 2003: Manuel Aguilar is soaking up the praise today after hitting an eye-popping .413 this season. The Carolina Kraken left fielder surpassed even his own expectations.
"I thought I could hit .350, maybe," he said, his eyes misting over. "To go beyond that..." His voice trailed off before he continued, "It's like a dream."
The Kraken star made the season a nightmare for his opposition, rattling off 253 hits including 46 doubles, 5 triples and 50 home runs. He scored 137 times and collected 159 runs batted in. |
